I am absolutely delighted that Alan has been released unharmed. He is a fantastic journalist of the utmost integrity. The fact that he was the only Western journalist to stay working full time in Gaza before he was kidnapped shows how committed he is to telling the world about the reality of Palestinians’ lives there. It was a cruel irony that he of all people should have spent 114 days in captivity.
