Royal Jewels

February 26th, 2008 2 comments

I’ve put the finishing touches on the Royal Jewels pages. I am still working on the Crown Jewels section, but that should be finished soon.

I’ve added new photos, two of which are the Cartier clips and the Williamson brooch. I was also able to find color photos of Grand Duchess Vladimir’s tiara, which, when worn with its emerald drops, needs to be seen in all its colorful splendor!

See them here.

I Need A Shower. Ugh.

I do. I need to get clean after reading about Paul Burrell. The Sun newspaper in London has uncovered a video in which Burrell speaks about misleading the coroner, British High Court judge Lord Justice Scott Baker.

Burrell freely admits he knew that he broke the law by lying to the inquest, adding: “I was very naughty.”

I was very naughty!? Now is not the time to be playing the coquette in a matter this serious, Paul. I know it is your deep desire to actually be a blonde, beloved Princess, but right now your life and credibility are on the line.

To read further, take a look at The Times. I wish this inquest would end, but how can it with people like Burrell?!

I’m happy to say that I’ve found the perfect gown for my wedding in October. Though I cannot show you the actual dress just yet, I will reveal my inspirations:

Thoughts on ‘Royals @ Work’

I had to laugh when I saw Gareth Robson in Part 2. He’s from Republic.org.uk. Gareth was so adamant in his dislike of the monarchy and his explanation was so absolutely hilarious, that I had to post something about it. Don’t mistake my mirth for a dismissal of the facts though.

“If you talk to any of the Americans in the Mall – there’s loads of them – they all say the same thing: ‘Oh Gee, we love your Queen’, but if you ask them, ‘Would you like to take her back with you?’ they always say, ‘No, no thanks! We’re happy the way we are, but we just think she’s great, she belongs over there with you quaint folks.’

That’s the crunch point for me. We’re not quaint folks, we’re not a quaint country, Britain is an incredibly impressive country, but held back by the nonsense from the past that we’ve allowed to dominate our cultural face that we present to the world. It’s ridiculous.”

What Just Happened?

February 19th, 2008 No comments

I update the blog with the latest version of WordPress, and all hell breaks loose. That’s not supposed to happen!

Please pardon the weirdness that happened with the Royal Representative (AND August Annotations). I’m not quite sure what happened after I updated, but when I visited the blog to make sure all was well, it gave me an error page from Flickr!

I apologize for the inconvenience. Thankfully everything is back to normal. Never a dull moment….
