William Tallon, known as ‘Billy’ to his employer Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, will have his personal items sold at auction.
On July 5th, his personal items, estimated at £500,000 will be sold by Colchester auctioneer Reeman Dansie. Some treasures include hand written notes to and from the Queen Mother and Prince Charles.
Princess Alexia of Greece had her youngest child, Amelia, baptized on the island of Lanzarote. The ceremony was witnessed by dozens of family members.
Guests included Amelia’s maternal grandparents, the former King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece and other royals.
Princess Alexia and her husband, architect Carlos Morales Quintana, married in London in July 1999. They live on Lanzarote in a house Quintana designed specifically for his family.
See the video at the BBC: Queen in Cumbria. The Queen’s reaction to this man is priceless!
That was disturbing! After you watch the video (post-article), there is a link to the next video, which is the Queen’s visit to Turkey. It is very interesting and leads to further videos. Then some more. Before you know it – if you’re anything like me – two hours of royalty will go by and you realize you need to actually get up and go do errands.
Here are a couple of new items added to my collection. The tin of HM and Prince Philip was given to me as a birthday present. It is a souvenir item from Canada, when the royal couple visited to open the St. Lawrence Seaway.

You’ll note that this tin matches my cup and saucer set, seen in my Royal Collection video.
Here is the back of the tin, which shows a map of the area (I apologize for the blurry quality!):

Here is the cup and saucer:

Another item I purchased (not shown) is a book about England, entitled “A History of England and the British Empire”. It’s original publication date is 1937, but the copy I have is 1953. It is written by Walter Phelps Hall and Robert Greenhalgh Albion.
It looked like an excellent book for summer reading. I want to begin my formal history studies in the fall or perhaps next spring, so I am going to be studying as much as I can. This book looked like a perfect start to refresh my memory!
