…Or, All Is Quiet On The Windsor Front

Let’s face it – nothing truly exciting is happening in the world of the Windsors.

People want an engagement between William and Kate and the subsequent wedding extravaganza that comes with it – yet nothing happens. The trickle of gossip that was left about Diana has completely dried up, and Philip hasn’t made any ‘charged’ comments of late. Maybe the Queen could do something fabulously outrageous, like throw a cameraman out the window because her tiara’s too tight. Something… anything!

Instead, we have Sarah Ferguson’s address (almost) made public, and the knowledge that one of the Queen’s footmen is a secret part-time wrestler. Get the smelling salts!

Meanwhile, Denmark’s Prince Frederik and Princess Mary are evacuated from Bangkok, Thailand after violent protests against the government began to shut down the country. The crown prince and princess had been on a four-day tour of the city to celebrate the 150th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Denmark and Thailand. Now, they depart amid a flurry of protests and explosions. James Bond was about to drop in any moment because of all the excitement.

So maybe it’s just a slow news period for Britain’s royals. Maybe someone should stir things up by changing their name to “Banana Fajita” Windsor…

Someone’s Being Cheeky

While searching for the date of Lady Gabriella Windsor’s birthday, I found her profile at Wikipedia.com. Perfect, right? Something was slightly amiss, however…

Ella, as she is usually known, is actually named Gabriella Marina Alexandra Ophelia. Watch this turn out to be her preferred culinary delight – Banana fajitas! Nice try, though, anonymous…

Charlene Wittstock Prepares For Royal Life

November 26th, 2008 No comments

The Institut de Francais has a new student: Charlene Wittstock.

The world’s most exclusive French language school – and the most intense – is training Ms. Wittstock for what many say is her future role as a Princess of Monaco. Nestled in Villefranche-sur-Mer, she has been studying the language for eight hours a day, five days a week. The course will last for one month and can be repeated if necessary.

Ms. Wittstock’s engagement to Monaco’s Sovereign Prince Albert II is said to be imminent, and the announcement is awaited with baited breath by royal watchers everywhere.

Prince Albert, along with his sisters Caroline and Stephanie, speak French flawlessly along with a number of other languages. Any potential Princess consort would have to know French fluently to truly be on par with the rest of the royals and to be a representative of the principality.

The instructors have praised Ms. Wittstock for her ear and say it is “only a matter of time” before she masters French completely.
