I Need A Shower. Ugh.

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I do. I need to get clean after reading about Paul Burrell. The Sun newspaper in London has uncovered a video in which Burrell speaks about misleading the coroner, British High Court judge Lord Justice Scott Baker.

Burrell freely admits he knew that he broke the law by lying to the inquest, adding: “I was very naughty.”

I was very naughty!? Now is not the time to be playing the coquette in a matter this serious, Paul. I know it is your deep desire to actually be a blonde, beloved Princess, but right now your life and credibility are on the line.

To read further, take a look at The Times. I wish this inquest would end, but how can it with people like Burrell?!

Things Aren’t Looking Up For Di

Friday, June 29th, 2007

She has been dead for a decade, but people still try to cash in on the fame of Diana, Princess of Wales. Books, “previously undiscovered” items, and many other things regarding Diana are flooding the market. The late Princess is especially prominent in the media in this tenth year since her passing, and her presence will be extremely prominent at the end of summer when the time of her accident occurred.

It figures. Paul Burrell and an assortment of mystics, “friends”, and associates certainly did their dirty jobs at getting famous at Diana’s expense. Her brother, Earl Spencer, occasionally chooses to chat about his sister at this time of year, too, though he doesn’t really have anything substantial or new to say.

If you thought all that was tacky, wait for this: the princess is now being thrown in with the prostitutes.

“Great,” think William and Harry. “Even more good news for us to read.”

An exhibition in Oxford, by artist Stella Vine, is to include paintings showing Princess Diana’s crash and the faces of the five prostitutes murdered in Ipswich last year. What a wonderful combination.

Next we have “Our blond obsession, from Di to Paris” by Megan Daum in the LA Times.

Diana may have been more dignified, more naturally beautiful and less heavy handed with the peroxide, but she’s also the one who paved the way to fame for Hilton and future generations of the under-talented and overexposed.

Diana and Paris, separated at birth. This is what the late Princess’ icon status has become. The thing that is truly sad is that on any other plane of existence, this would be considered coming down in the world. Being the society that we are, however, this will make Diana last forever. No criticism, exposé, scandal, or even death will ever diminish her popularity.

Sorry Harry and Wills; society has accepted your mother in to its collective bosom and are keeping her there, along with all its trash. What a sad way to go.

What Cheek!

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

The former butler of Britain’s Princess Diana believes he should play a key role in Princes Harry and William’s memorial concert for their late mother.

Paul Burrell saw himself as one of Diana’s closest confidants and is reportedly expecting to be consulted on plans for next year’s commemorative event marking the 10th anniversary of the princess’ untimely death in 1997.

The man has no right to be there. He revealed Diana’s personal business and he is a complete media hound. But I say, if her sons want him there, then I guess Burrell participates.

Wiretapping of Princes

Sunday, December 3rd, 2006

The royal editor of the News of the World has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to intercept voicemail messages.

Clive Goodman, 48, from London, was arrested after claims by the Prince of Wales’s household of security breaches.

Glenn Mulcaire, 35, admitted the same charge and five counts of intercepting messages on the mobile phones of the likes of publicist Max Clifford.

Adrienne Clarkson Pushing Book

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

Adrienne Clarkson, former Governor-General of Canada, has written her memoirs. In it, she has decided to take “a swipe” at Her Majesty and even the late Queen Elizabeth.

Clarkson’s book, “Heart Matters”, was the opportunity to take the Queen to task publicly. Is it a political issue? A national issue? No. It was neither of those.

Let me save you your hard-earned money and reveal the plot now - it was jealousy.

According to the Daily Telegraph, “The Queen’s decision to powder her nose at the dinner table has so shocked the delicate sensibilities of Adrienne Clarkson, Canada’s former governor-general, that she has used her memoirs to draw attention to it. She also took a swipe at the Queen Mother’s use of mismatched china.”

It is Clarkson who should take lessons from the Queen; HM would never gripe about something so petty, least of all in her memoirs. Then again, the Queen has lived a remarkable life. She doesn’t need to use worthless filler.

Zara - Too much info

Friday, September 15th, 2006

HELLO! Royalty and statesmen: “Zara becomes a City trader for the day”.

Who wears shorts that short to do city trading? Even if it isn’t her actual job, I wish Zara had had a little more sense that day. She’s one of Britain’s top equestrian talents, set to receive an award, and she shows up like that? C’mon, Zara. Class is good.

Embarrassing Revelations

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Yes, this is getting embarassing. MORE ‘revelations’? Give it up, Paul, you look desparate.

But Paul Burrell obviously doesn’t seem to mind, though. He has no shame, proudly plugging another book of his ‘intimate’ anecdotes. Even I feel embarrassed. Indeed, people everywhere are cringing. This is so ludicrous.

How long can he go on in this vein, feeding stories to the media that “something big” is always right around the corner, writing books on things he’s already covered?
