The Institut de Francais has a new student: Charlene Wittstock.
The world’s most exclusive French language school - and the most intense - is training Ms. Wittstock for what many say is her future role as a Princess of Monaco. Nestled in Villefranche-sur-Mer, she has been studying the language for eight hours a day, five days a week. The course will last for one month and can be repeated if necessary.
Ms. Wittstock’s engagement to Monaco’s Sovereign Prince Albert II is said to be imminent, and the announcement is awaited with baited breath by royal watchers everywhere.
Prince Albert, along with his sisters Caroline and Stephanie, speak French flawlessly along with a number of other languages. Any potential Princess consort would have to know French fluently to truly be on par with the rest of the royals and to be a representative of the principality.
The instructors have praised Ms. Wittstock for her ear and say it is “only a matter of time” before she masters French completely.

It’s been said that Zara and Mike Tindall have bookies a-flyin’ to place their bets on an engagement between the two. The daughter of the Princess Royal and her sporty beau have been together for ages now with no sign of the fire burning out. The question is, would an engagement between the pair be announced in the coming months? In the event that William proposes to Kate soon - which everyone is waiting for - Zara would not be able to announce her (if any) engagement now.
That the future king is marrying will put all else in the shade. William would certainly not want his cousin left in his shadow; he’d want Zara to have her own limelight and happiness. So will Zara and Mike await the latter part of the year to announce wedding plans, should there be any? Or will it be vice versa, with William and Kate announcing their own engagement this autumn?
On Friday, 5th May 2006, I was proposed to by the most wonderful man in the world.
Aaron and I have not yet set the date, but that will happen shortly. Right now, we’re ringing everyone and telling them the good news!
Some of you may remember the tribute I made for our very first anniversary on “Mandy’s British Royalty”. It was a very special day, that May 5th 2002. It was the first full year, and we knew that there would be many more happy years to come. And now, upon the occasion of our 5th anniversary, we’ve become engaged. Now we look forward to many more years not just as boyfriend and girlfriend, but as husband and wife.
This is a very special time, a time to celebrate with my Soulmate. To Aaron I say: I LOVE YOU! Here’s to all the years we will share together.
A report in last weekend’s Sunday Mirror newspaper indicated that the Prince of Wales’ eldest son, Prince William, is expected to propose to his girlfriend.
Talk of a protection officer for the pretty 24-year-old Kate Middleton - a step usually only undertaken after an engagement is announced - has further fuelled speculation among royal watchers.

I personally feel that it is still too early to tell. Who knows what could happen over Valentine’s Day, but I still think we should not expect such a move from Prince William just yet.
The Duchess of Cornwall is to carry out her first solo engagement as a member of the Royal Family. Camilla, who married the Prince of Wales last month, will visit Southampton General Hospital in her capacity as president of the National Osteoporosis Society.
The visit - her first official appearance without her husband - was originally to take place on April 25, but was postponed early last month. Clarence House said it would have been insensitive for the Duchess to visit a hospital in the run-up to the General Election.
Camilla, whose mother and grandmother both suffered from the crippling brittle bone disease, is to tour the osteoporosis unit. The Duchess described her mother Rosalind Shand’s agonising ordeal in a speech at an international summit on the condition in 2002. She described how her mother’s experience led to her own involvement with the society.
“The quality of her life became so dismal and her suffering so unbearable that she just gave up the fight and lost the will to live,” she said.
Camilla will also open the hospital’s Medical Research Council Epidemiology Resource Centre during the two-hour visit
