Happy Easter

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

On the evening of Maundy Thursday, I went to church. There were six people who had to give a reading, and I was one. After the reading, I had to ceremoniously bang a nail into a cross, which was about as big as I am. It had the crown of thorns on it. Then, I extinguished one of six candles.

Since this service focused solely on Christ’s crucifixion, it was very solemn and I found myself trying not to cry. Then I thought, “Why do I want to cry? I know how this story ends! It ends happily!”

Now I’m off to church again this good morn, and I will get to celebrate the happy and triumphant part of the story. Hey, it’s not every day that death is well and truly conquered. :D

A joyous and peaceful Easter to you all!
