“This was human error. We are very sorry and our online news team has sent an apology to the royal family,” said a spokeswoman for the Flemish VRT television website.
The queen – who had surgery to correct a thyroid problem earlier this month – was diagnosed with pneumonia and is currently in a “serious but stable” condition.

Dutch TV series Blauw Bloed (Blue Blood) chronicles the latest news and events in the royal families of Europe – specifically the Dutch Royal House headed by Queen Beatrix.
I wasn’t aware that this program existed, but thanks to a nice trip through the depths of YouTube, I found a “promo” video. It looks great and definitely made me want to watch the program, even though I don’t speak or understand Dutch at all. Ah, the power of Royalty!
Princess Mathilde of Belgium gave birth in Brussels on Wednesday, April 16th. Her fourth child and second daughter is named Eleonore Fabiola Victoria Anne Marie.
The Belgian Crown Princess and her husband, Crown Prince Phillipe, are parents to Elisabeth (7), Gabriel (5), and Emmanuel (3).
