It’s Charles vs Trump!

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Well, not exactly, but our heir to the throne has made some good property moves. According to Hello!, the Prince has bought, sold or renovated over £200 million-worth of property in the past seven years, making a £43 million profit.

Sales of assets, which have raised £123.5 million since 2001, range from £30 million for a block of flats to £40,000 for farmland.

While dealing in property, Charles also purchased a new estate, located in Wales which I am happy to see. As Prince of Wales, it only seems appropriate. Now Charles’ only problem is trying to fit “Llwynywormwood” on to envelopes.

Probably For The Best

Monday, August 27th, 2007
On reflection I believe my attendance could divert attention from the purpose of the occasion, which is to focus on the life and service of Diana. I’m grateful to my husband, William and Harry for supporting my decision.

- Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall in a statement regarding her change of heart at attending Diana’s memorial.

I feel that it is avoiding an awkward situation. It’s not something that occurred by force, but rather out of grace.

Awkward

Who advised Camilla to turn Diana’s Prince of Wales feathers necklace into a brooch? The diamond and emerald trinket was shown in a side-by-side comparison on each woman in the latest issue of Ok! Magazine. Even if the piece did not belong to Diana personally, it still seems a bit controversial for Camilla to wear something that once belonged to the Princess of Wales.

Shetland Museum opened by Norwegian, British Royals

Friday, June 1st, 2007

Charles and Camilla were recently joined by Queen Sonja of Norway for the opening of the £11-million, state-of-the-art Shetland Museum.

It’s great that we have managed to get people from both royal families. [This] reflects very much the nature of our collections - Scandinavian and English and Scottish influences.”

Camilla Back To Work

Radiant and smiling at the Classical Brit Awards, the Duchess of Cornwall proved she’s back on excellent form after taking two months out from public life to recover from an operation. On her first official engagement since a hysterectomy in early March Camilla looked at ease, chatting to performers from the classical world and top musical names such as Sting and Sir Paul McCartney.

Congratulations to Tom & Sara Parker-Bowles

Camilla is to become a grandmother for the first time, says Hello! Magazine.

Her eldest, Tom, and his wife Sara just announced that she is three months pregnant with their first child. Friends say Camilla is delighted and “over the moon”. The Duchess has been hoping to become a grandmother since Tom married in 2005, and daughter Laura wed in 2006.

Prince Charles, who has a close relationship with both Tom and Laura, is also looking forward to becoming a grandfather.

Camilla invited to Diana’s Memorial

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall has been invited by William and Harry to attend the memorial service marking the tenth anniversary their mother’s death.

This invitation is seen as proof that the Princes have fully accepted Camilla as a member of their intimate family circle, and want to include her in one of the most sensitive, life-changing events that they have ever experienced.

“William and I love her to bits. She’s made our father very, very happy, which is the most important thing.” - Harry on Camilla

Naturally, Diana’s siblings Earl Spencer, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Lady Jane Fellowes will be in attendance. It has been reported that the Princes’ uncle and aunts helped them draw up the guest list. But how will the public react to Camilla’s presence at Diana’s memorial? Your comments please.
