William made Knight of the Garter

Prince William has been made a Royal Knight of the Garter, the most senior British order of chivalry.

The Prince was officially appointed by his grandmother the Queen at a service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

The Order of the Garter - established by Edward III in 1348 - honours those who have contributed to national life or served the Queen.

Trooping The Colour

LONDON (Reuters) - The guardians of Britain’s historic Tower of London are enlisting girl power for the first time in their 522-year history.

The Tower’s Yeoman Warders, commonly known as Beefeaters — whose ceremonial dress is a distinctive scarlet and gold tunic, white ruff, red stockings and black patent shoes — have appointed the first female member to their ranks.
