While the Fringe Tiara is beautiful and has been worn for the weddings of her mother and grandmother, Zara may choose the Meander Tiara to represent one side of her family. The choice of church is a nod to the other.

The tiara comes from Prince Philip’s mother, Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark. It was her wedding gift to then-Princess Elizabeth. Her Majesty has never worn it publicly, but she did pass it on to Princess Anne who has worn it for many occasions.

The wedding ceremony will take place in Crathie Kirk, in the Scottish village of Crathie. The Royal Family has enjoyed Scotland for several generations, and they worship at the little church when they are on holiday at Balmoral Castle.

Scotland was the birthplace of Zara’s great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who came from the Bowes-Lyon family. Zara’s other formidable female forebear, Queen Victoria, was also an ardent fan of Scotland and cherished her time at Balmoral.

Two very important family connections are made with the location and choice of tiara. I look forward to seeing Zara, Mike, and both families enjoy their special day.

Tindall, 31, who presented his fiancée with a solitaire diamond ring, said: “I am delighted that Zara has agreed to marry me. We are both very excited about the next stage of our lives together.” (via Telegraph)

I wonder if Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall will wed first, and then we’ll see an engagement between William and Kate.

Since Wills is an heir to the throne, his wedding will be a huge deal. The family and the courtiers will be all a-twitter trying to organize such a big state event. He loves cousin Zara to pieces, so I imagine that Wills wouldn’t dream of upstaging her time in the sun of wedding planning.

I bet William will wait until Zara and Mike are married to propose to Kate. That’s my prediction.

It’s been said that Zara and Mike Tindall have bookies a-flyin’ to place their bets on an engagement between the two. The daughter of the Princess Royal and her sporty beau have been together for ages now with no sign of the fire burning out. The question is, would an engagement between the pair be announced in the coming months? In the event that William proposes to Kate soon – which everyone is waiting for – Zara would not be able to announce her (if any) engagement now.

That the future king is marrying will put all else in the shade. William would certainly not want his cousin left in his shadow; he’d want Zara to have her own limelight and happiness. So will Zara and Mike await the latter part of the year to announce wedding plans, should there be any? Or will it be vice versa, with William and Kate announcing their own engagement this autumn?

It’s been a big year for sporty royal Zara Phillips, after she won a gold medal at the World Equestrian Games and was then honoured again at the Horse Of The Year show. And the pretty 25-year-old was given more reason to celebrate this week when her aunt, the Duchess of Cornwall, presented her with another piece of silverware for her growing collection.
